Day Forty

Waking up in a strange bed always feels a little weird but after many years on the road during my career and beyond I'm very used to it. What got me up and out of bed was the delicious aroma of freshly brewed coffee that wafted into my room.
George was checking out the morning news on TV and Linda was busy preparing our breakfast. I love being spoiled.
It was another overcast day which disappointed George because he thought it would be fun to hang out in his pool while enjoying a cold one or two.
Earlier George and I had checked out Google Maps for some possible routes I could take. I have three weeks to get back home which gives me plenty of time to explore some of the inland states that I hadn't spent any time in over the years.
I decided that I was going to leave that morning and head east toward Birmington, Alabama. George had suggested I visit the Barber Museum there which has possibly the largest collection of vintage motorcycles in the world. It will probably take me a couple of days to get there but I'm in no hurry anyway.
We said our goodbyes and I thanked George and Linda again for their hospitality.
I hope someday that they might be up in Canada and drop by for a few days at my place.
I got out on Interstate 20 and aimed my rig to the east. I had kind of figured on driving out of Texas, into and through Louisiana all the way to Mississippi but as I crossed into Louisiana I remembered that the season opener for the Dallas Cowboys football team started in a couple of hours. Why is this significant? I like the NFL and the Cowboys are one of my favourite teams. I had noticed a KOA campground in Shreveport, LA so I decided to stop for the day and see if they had space for me and whether they had cable TV at each RV space so I could watch the game.
Bingo!! I was in luck on both counts. I got my trailer all levelled and plugged in, switched on the game and watched the Carolina Panthers crush the Dallas Cowboys 16 to 8. Bummer.
Not much in the way of photo ops today so here's my Shreveport, LA campsite.
