Day Fourteen
Erin and I both had some computer work to take care of this morning. She has a very busy lifestyle and her Breathwork business needs constant attention. Because I have had no access to wifi for the past five days I needed to continue to update my blog despite not being able to post the stories from my travels.
It was a hazy but warm morning as we are still getting some smoke from various fires around the state.
I picked Erin up at noon and we headed west out of Portland toward Wilson Creek where we had decided to try another hike. The park was just off the highway so it was easy to find and had plenty of parking.
I think we both wondered how we’d feel today on the trails after doing a major hike the day before. This was obviously a popular “swimming hole” for families so we saw very few hikers and a whole ton of families enjoying the water on this very hot and humid afternoon.
Beside the trail we found these juicy wild blackberries which grow everywhere almost like weeds. Yum!!
Today our destination was Wilson Falls but because Oregon has had such an unusually dry summer, the falls were rather disappointing.
We had to keep our eye on the time because we still had to get back to Erin’s B&B by 5’ish because Cavan and Angie were coming over for dinner. We stopped on the way back to pick up some wine, salad fixings and of course, dessert.
They came over about 6:30 and brought their big cast iron skillet and a gorgeous Steelhead fillet as there was no BBQ available at Erin’s place. It was a perfect evening so we sat outside on the patio and had our meal.
I love these kinds of days spent with family, listening to all their stories and reuniting after months apart.
Cavan and Angie both had to work very early the next morning so it became an early evening for everyone.
I gave them a lift home and then drove the twenty minutes back to my RV after what was a very memorable day with my kids.

Looks just great! Say Hi to Cavan.
